The more complex an entertainment system, the greater the variety of protocols. With the solutions from automationNEXT, they can all be consolidated in a single system, which is easy to learn, operate and maintain.
Standard interfaces enable the integration of a variety of communication engineering features. Users can always enjoy more flexibility and easy operability.
Avance Kino, Steiermark/Austria
With the many different systems that must work together perfectly and smoothly in a cinema – lighting, audio and video equipment, effect lighting – the “Avance Kino” project was tailor-made for the use of NEXTengine. With the “generic serial device” module, devices with a RS232 interface can be integrated quickly and easily. Two beamers, one 12x audio router, the auditorium lighting and the effect lighting (DMX) could be integrated in this project. The control was managed almost entirely via a RTI remote control.
A push of the button was enough to start the required operations. So for example, with the “Filmstart” button, the light is dimmed and the desired intro music starts playing simultaneously with the light effect show. Finally, the audio router is set to Dolby Digital, the Beamer is switched on and the film starts. The 30 channels of the DMX system are controlled at the right time by NEXTengine.
With the Ethernet-based system it is possible to build the NEXTengine into a switch cabinet. The serial interfaces included via Ethernet can be distributed all over the building, which naturally simplifies the wiring.
